It’s about soul.
At Burkheimer, we don’t eschew technology, but we also don’t make it our marketing focus. That’s not who we are. We focus instead on creating that innate Burkie feel. It’s deeply intuitive and it sets a Burkheimer apart from all others. It arises from a combination of materials, tooling, and a sense of design that comes from decades in the rod-building world.
Frankly, we obsess over it.
There is no set formula to make it happen, though. So we cast, we tweak, we fish, and then we cast, tweak, and fish some more. And then it happens: the feel is there. The feel that brings a nod and a smile, the feel that gives you a “heck yeah” when it loads up, the feel that makes a rod seem to have soul. It’s a fishy Burkheimer mojo that you have to cast to understand. It’s what Kerry Burkheimer expects from each and every rod that comes out of our shop. It’s what we mean when we say:
