North Oregon Coast: The rivers of the North Coast start filling up with bright native steelhead in January and fish well through April 15th. The wild steelhead experience is the focus of these trips, and Nate concentrates on the search for solitude and native fish. He guides several different systems on the coast depending on water conditions and timing. These are intimate and densely forested rivers with steelhead green water and sea-lice chrome fish.
- North Oregon Coast float trips are $450 for one angler and $500 for two. Flies and lunch are provided.
The Clackamas River: The winter season kicks off in December with bright Clackamas river fish. The Clackamas is a swung fly dream, with broad gravel bars and big boulders set in a wide flood plain. Even currents bring your fly across tantalizing drifts and big tailouts holding chrome winter steelhead. The last few seasons have seen the best wild steelhead returns in years and 2011 is already shaping up to be a great season. April 1st on the Clack brings early summer steelhead, and the next month brings a great mix of late native winters and chromer summer steelhead. Nate fishes for summers on the Clackamas until June 15th.
