Brian Styskal
Brian’s relaxed stroke, tight loops and controlled power have developed from years of on the water practice and mental dedication. He has proven himself both as an instructor and competition caster, in addition to being a fine steelhead angler and guide. Brian’s relaxed demeanor and personable style lends itself well to his role as instructor, and he has an innate knack for relaying his knowledge, and deciphering the technical problems of casters at all levels. Brian is the head instructor for CF Burkheimer Spey Schools, guides summers at Alaska West, and offers day trips on the Klickitat river during the fall. Whitney Gould
Whitney has successfully competed at the highest levels, has lead clinics throughout the country, and is becoming one of the most accomplished female casters anywhere. Her positive attitude and unwavering excitement for spey casting are infectious, and students are always impressed and motivated by the instruction they receive from Whit. Whitney guides at Alaska West, and is a casting instructor for CF Burkheimer Spey Schools.
Nate Koenigsknecht
After a youth spent in Michigan chasing all manner of salmonids and warm water game fish, Nate was drawn to the Pacific Northwest in the pursuit of steelhead. For the last ten years he has dedicated his life to steelhead and salmon angling with a fly, preferring to swing flies with two handed rods at every opportunity. Nate is a steelhead guide on the Clackamas, North Oregon Coast and Deschutes rivers, a casting instructor for the CF Burkheimer Spey Schools, and a member of the CF Burkheimer Advisory Staff. Kerry Burkheimer
Kerry’s legendary talent for rod design, his casting ability and his instructional fluency are only enhanced by a jovial personality and wonderful sense of humor. He’s been teaching classes, guiding anglers into fish and designing fly rods for the better part of his life, and his experience and skill are an invaluable resource in any instructional setting.
